Areca is a systemic fungicide that may be applied to a wide range of ornamental flowering and foliage plants as a foliar spray, drench or dip for control of diseases caused by Pythium, Phytophthora, and Downy Mildew pathogens.
- Areca can also be used for suppression of bacterial blight caused by certain pathovars of Xanthomonas campestris. Areca may be used on ornamentals and bedding plants grown in field nursery, greenhouse, landscape and conifer nurseries.
- Ornamentals and bedding plants grown in field nursery, greenhouse, and conifer nursery situations. (Not labeled on conifer nurseries in California.)
- Pythium, Phytophthora and Downy Mildew. Also suppression of bacterial blight.
- Applications should be made prior to disease development and should be made in conjunction with good cultural management practices. Use the higher rate when disease pressure is severe. Areca may be used through irrigation systems including microjet, drip, solid set, and center pivot systems
