Lontrel Turf and Ornamental Specialty Herbicide, Low odor and low use rates, Outstanding control, Excellent turf tolerance, Application flexibility
Lontrel Turf and Ornamental Specialty Herbicide, for selective postemergence control of broadleaf weeds in non-residential turfgrass, including turfgrass grown for seed or sod farms, and certain ornamental plantings, such as conifers, nonleguminous woody species, and ornamental grasses, in landscapes and nurseries.
Lontrel Turf and Ornamental Specialty Herbicide provides a high level of turf safety while offering superior postemergence control of clover, dandelion, thistle and dollarweed. Lontrel is labeled for use on both warm- and cool-season turf, but sets the standard for safety to turf in closely mowed bentgrass and Bermudagrass fairways.
Many herbicides control weeds, but Lontrel Turf and Ornamental Specialty Herbicide controls them without burning even the most sensitive grass species for which it’s labeled on golf courses, commercial properties, parks, other public facilities and sod farms. It is not registered for use on residential turf. Lontrel may be used in certain ornamental landscape settings and in nurseries. Its low odor and low use rates make it an excellent choice for many weed control programs.
How Lontrel Specialty Herbicide Works Lontrel works slowly and thoroughly to control tough, deep-rooted, actively growing weeds. Its active ingredient, clopyralid, attacks all parts of the weed, including the root system. Target weeds readily absorb clopyralid, which translocates throughout the plant to stop it from competing with surrounding plants for sunlight, water and nutrients. Weeds eventually stop growing, wither and die.
